In AGV and AMR systems the motor controller is the robot’s legs: the more precise the positioning, the more reliable the navigation. NES Drive AGV controllers use FOC vector control to produce full, ripple-free torque even at low speed, which means accurate speed tracking, smooth start-stop and repeatable positioning.

Autonomous robots usually work indoors alongside people, so quiet, maintenance-free operation is essential. The brushless TULPAR series meets that need. It communicates bidirectionally with the robot’s main controller over CANopen/Modbus (receive speed command, feed back encoder/current/temperature) and extends battery life with regenerative braking.

What is needed for precise positioning on an AGV?

Closed-loop FOC control with encoder or Hall feedback. Our drives give full torque and accurate speed tracking even at low speed, which is the basis of repeatable positioning.

How does it talk to the robot’s main controller?

Over CANopen or Modbus. The main controller sends speed/torque commands; the drive feeds back encoder position, current and temperature.

Is it quiet in shared human spaces?
