Product TULPAR 250 Overview: 72 V BLDC Motor Controller
TULPAR 250 is the mid-range model of the TULPAR series. It delivers 50 A rated and 75 A peak current across a wide 12–72 V range and is designed for scissor lifts and mid-class industrial vehicles. It is the most accessible model in the series for 72 V battery systems.
Key Ratings
- Operating voltage: 12–72 V DC
- Current: 50 A rated, 75 A peak (RMS)
- Compatible motors: BLDC, PMSM and AC induction (ACIM)
- Topology: four-quadrant (4Q) regenerative
- Communication: CANopen and Modbus; RS232, CAN bus and RS485 interfaces
- Feedback: encoder and Hall
- I/O: 5 digital inputs, 2 analog inputs, 2 digital outputs, 1 brake output
- Operating temperature: −10 °C / +40 °C
Highlights
TULPAR 250’s peak current is 50 % above its rated value, giving a power reserve at start-up and on ramps. Supporting both CANopen and Modbus, it connects to CAN-based vehicle architectures as well as PLC systems. Its 4Q topology returns braking energy to the battery.
Where It Is Used
- Scissor lifts and personnel platforms
- Mid-class industrial transport vehicles
- Traction motors of 72 V battery vehicles
- 50 A class applications that need CANopen
Points to Note
TULPAR 250 has no STO (Safe Torque Off) input. If your machine requires STO, consider TULPAR 150 (isolated STO, 20 A) or TULPAR 300. In the same 50 A class, for 48 V systems where Modbus alone is enough, TULPAR 200 is an alternative.
